"I get a lot of calls from people going through a transition in health insurance. They’re turning 65, or they just lost their job and benefits, or their COBRA is running out or they’re a new company just starting to offer health insurance. They don’t know where to turn for advice or they are completely confused. I ask a lot of questions and often advise people to do something other than purchase a policy through us. I always put myself in that persons’ position and ask myself "what would I do?" I’ve been doing this a long time and I really pride myself in being able to look at a lot of options and possibilities. I frequently have people say to me; "no one else told me that"."

"Medicare Part D has been very confusing. But, I’ve helped a lot of people figure it out. For most people I know, Part D has been a huge improvement over what they had previously. But, too many people just signed up with whomever they had their Medicare supplement with and they’ve been overpaying. This past year there was a great plan that was only $5.41/mo. There was also a plan that had no deductible and no donut hole. Open enrollment will be 11/15 to 12/31 this year. I suggest some comparison-shopping on the medicare.gov website.
